The Brightness of Summer
Sydney envisioned her wedding day full of color. Bright, vibrant colors to make a statement, a bold summer statement. We first delivered the personal flowers to Sydney at her Airbnb. We knew right away we had gotten the color palette right! With hair and makeup in full swing, there was a lot of excited chatter as we walked in with boxes of brightly colored flowers.
The personal flowers were designed using hot pink snapdragons and spray roses, deep pink garden roses, both light and dark blue delphinium, purple stock, orange roses, and eryngium. The bridesmaids bouquets were all hand-tied and Sydney’s bouquet was a full length cascade bouquet with pepper grass foliage. The flower girl wore a sweet flower crown and carried a white satin basket with a floral accent added to match the bride’s bouquet.
The Ceremony
The wedding ceremony took place at the Grant Pavilion at Millennium Park Grand Rapids. For the ceremony focal piece, we designed a gorgeous ground arch with lots of color! We used red dogwood for height in the back and worked our way down with snapdragons, blue delphinium, purple stock, orange roses, and deep pink garden roses.
The Reception
The reception took place at the Bissell Treehouse at John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, Michigan. One of our favorite settings! Sydney selected two different tablescapes for her guest tables. The first was a full compote centerpiece in a clear glass compote surrounded by taper candles with glass hurricanes. The second was a candlescape with taper candles and three budvases of flowers amongst the candles.
Sydney also envisioned a greenery runner on the headtable with taper candles throughout the greenery.
The fireplace at Bissell Treehouse, that would not be lit during the reception, was another area Sydney wanted us to focus on. We filled the space with taper and pillar candles and added greenery to mimic the headtable.
It was such a pleasure to work with Golden Hour Events for planning and day-of coordination, The Wild Phern for gorgeous professional photography, Gilmore Catering for catering and table settings, and Bissell Treehouse for this gorgeous venue. And of course, the happy couple, Syndey and Jacob were a dream to work with, and it was so fun bringing their vision to life!
