A Peacock Wedding
We first met Carlos and Michael when they started visiting our flower shop. They became very good customers (and still are) of our retail flower shop. Then, Carlos stopped in one day to purchase flowers with the intent of proposing to Michael. (Yay!!!!)
And so began our two plus year journey with Carlos and Michael planning their September 3, 2022 wedding. It was something that would evolve over time to become the end result, but peacocks were always a central focus.
The six-foot tall peacocks that flanked the couple at both the ceremony and the sweetheart table were always a part of our plans. It was a true team effort to design, construct, and move the peacocks into place at both the Imperial Ballroom and the Ambassador Ballroom at the Amway Grand Plaza.
Throughout the process, Carlos and Michael were a true joy to work with and it was an honor to be a part of their vision come to fruition.
It was Carlos and Michael’s vision to have two peacocks facing each other for the ceremony. They elected to have the bodies be white and have the tail ombre into the peacock color palette.
For the bridesmaids, Carlos and Michael selected bouquets with predominantly white flowers with the peacock colors as accents.
The peacock themed boutonniere was designed using dendrobium orchids, delphinium, button mums, and a peacock feather.
A nine-foot floral moongate arch surrounded the upper level entrance to the Imperial Ballroom, the ceremony location at the Amway Grand Plaza.
A happy coincidence that the entrance to the Imperial Ballroom has a beautiful plaster cast peacock. Two floral arrangements framed the peacock to greet guests as they arrived for the ceremony.
The reception took place in the Ambassador Ballroom at the Amway Grand Plaza. The guest tables had three different tablescapes ~ the large elevated centerpieces on three-foot glass cylinders, the medium elevated centerpieces on 18-inch glass cylinders, and a smaller cylinder vase. All the tablescapes included candles of different heights and sizes.
The Sweetheart Table featured a full floral runner with a waterfall edge that continued the length of the stage. The peacocks flanked the stage facing Carlos and Michael.
The nine-tier wedding cake designed by the pastry team at the Amway Grand Plaza was adorned with peacock feathers and a full floral wreath at the base.
It was an amazing experience to witness Carlos and Michael’s wedding day. It was filled with love, family, friends, and joy.
