Prom Season 2019
We are currently in the middle of the 2019 prom season. We have one big weekend left in this year’s prom cycle. In this post, I thought it would be fun to share some of our prom wrist corsages and boutonnieres from the past couple of weekends.
We’ve definitely noticed a lot of blue this season. Most choose to order white flowers with blue accents to coordinate with blue attire. Some couples choose to add a complementary color that they love to coordinate with the blue, such as hot pink in the wrist corsage featured in this blog.
Though white flowers accented by the dress color using ribbon and other materials continues to be a popular selection, it’s a welcome change of pace to include colorful flowers in a corsage and boutonniere.
We’ve also designed quite a few wrist corsages and boutonnieres to complement champagne dresses during this prom season. Typically, the choice is white or cream flowers with a champagne ribbon, but the Star Blush petite rose also blends nicely with champagne fabric.
The trend continues to move towards more and more couples ordering their prom flowers together. This provides the opportunity for the prom wrist corsage and boutonniere to both coordinate with each other as well as the couple’s prom attire. Below is an example of a couple’s coordinated wrist corsage and boutonniere. The prom corsage features white dendrobium orchids, hot pink petite roses, wax flower, ribbon, and rhinestones. The boutonniere is designed using a hot pink rose (Hot Paris) accented by the ribbon, rhinestones, and wax flower from the wrist corsage.
Below is a selection of boutonnieres from this prom season. The first boutonniere is designed with two white dendrobium orchids and a purple sheer ribbon. The second boutonniere features a white rose accented by rhinestones and wax flower with the stem wrapped in white sheer ribbon. The third boutonniere uses a lavender rose and white alstroemeria accented by iridescent rhinestones. The final boutonniere offers classic simplicity with its single rose with baby’s breath.
