Christmas 2019 Recap
We really enjoyed this Christmas season at Ye Olde Flower Shoppe. The following post is a photo recap of the month of December at Wyoming Stuyvesant Floral.
This year, in addition to our typical window displays and landscape pots, we added the moongate to our outdoor Christmas display. I really liked having a display on the white exterior wall. I’m currently plotting to transition the moongate into a Valentine’s Day theme.
These elegant Christmas centerpieces designed in glass compotes are an alternative to the traditional centerpiece designed in floral foam. #nofloralfoam
Porch pots continue to be popular, featuring birch, red dogwood, and winterberry. (Fun fact: My grandpa, Don Dykstra (the first generation of this family business), says that winterberry was formerly know as Michigan holly.)
Our printed wood boxes and vessels continue to be a popular choice. I’ve included several examples in this post. The print definitely adds a special touch and custom feel to the arrangements.
The seasonal nature of floristry means there’s always something on the horizon. As soon as January hit, we moved onto spring flowers and designs. It was nice to take a look back at what we had designed for the Christmas season, but I’m already looking forward to sharing what’s coming up in 2020. Happy New Year from all of us at Wyoming Stuyvesant Floral.
